ORegAnno adds UCSC genome browser track
The ORegAnno (Open Regulatory Annotation) resource has added an official track in the UCSC genome browser. This development makes ORegAnno data available to a wider community and allows users to view experimentally verified regulatory sequences in their genomic context. Currently only human records are available but other well-represented species in ORegAnno (Drosophila, C. elegans, etc) will follow. To see an example, go to the UCSC genome browser and choose the Human, Mar. 2006 assembly. Search for a region with Oreganno sequences (e.g. BIRC5). Under Expression and Regulation, make the ORegAnno track visible (e.g. pack view). Zoom out and you should see several oreganno records. Click on any one record to get details and links back to ORegAnno.
