AR and β-catenin in androgen independent prostate cancer

Crosstalk between the androgen receptor and beta-catenin in castrate-resistant prostate cancer.

The gene expression profile of the LNCaP hollow fiber modelof prostate cancer was shown to be similar to clinical samples during hormonal progression by application of Affymetrix GeneChip analyses. This is the first genomic evidence for aberrant activation of the androgen receptor through the Wnt/β-catenin signalling pathway during the progression of prostate cancer to the androgen-independent stage.
