cisRED C. elegans conserved element database
We present the cisRED Caenorhabditis elegans database. We obtained orthologues for C. elegans
protein-coding genes in seven other nematode species and identified
conserved elements by de novo motif discovery. This catalogue of annotated conserved upstream elements can be used to find
putative regulatory elements, discover novel RNA genes, understand the evolution
of transcription factor binding sites, and identify novel binding
site candidates for both characterized transcription factors in
nematodes and orthologues of characterized mammalian transcription
factors.
