Dr. Sadar has been appointed by the Government of Canada to the Board of Trustees of the Canada Science and Technology Museum. This is one of three museums comprising the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation, responsible for preserving and protecting Canada's scientific and technological heritage and promoting and sharing knowledge about it.

Dr. Sadar was awarded for Excellence in Research and Discovery.
2016 - Chair of FY17 and Executive Committee Member of FY16
Dr. Sadar was elected Chair of FY17 and Executive Committee Member of FY16 in the US Army DOD Prostate Cancer Research Program Programmatic/Integration Panel.
2014 - USA Army DOD Prostate Cancer Research Program Integration Panel
Dr. Sadar was appointed to the PCRP Integration Panel (IP), joining a distinguished group of scientists, clinicians, and consumer advocates who make up the seventeen-member advisory body. The PCRP Integration Panel, comprised of some of the nation's foremost innovative thinkers and creative leaders in prostate cancer research and clinical care, is an external advisory body that recommends an appropriate vision, award mechanisms, and investment strategy for the program, makes funding recommendations on applications submitted to the program, and advises program officers on policy development and critical issues in prostate cancer research and clinical management.
2010 - SWIU/SBUR Award for Excellence in Urologic Research
This is an annual award to recognize a female scientist who has a distinguished track record of basic science in urologic research. Presented at the annual meeting of the Society of Women in Urology and the Society for Basic Urologic Research
2009 - Simon Fraser University Outstanding Alumni Award for Academic Achievement

Awarded annually by the National Cancer Institute of Canada to one investigator in the first 10 years of their career for performing outstanding basic laboratory research in cancer.
