Projects Manager

The Genome Sciences Centre currently has an opening for a temporary full-time Projects Manager. The Projects Manager manages various projects and grants at the GSC. They report to the Genome Sciences Centre (GSC ) Leader, Projects Management Team or designate, and work in accordance with established policies and procedures, vision and values of the GSC research culture. The major focus of this position is the management and coordination of clinically focused research project(s) at the GSC. The role will include the organization and management of meetings, coordination of case reviews, and interacting directly with clinicians, as well as other activities as required.

Specifically, you will:

    • Work with the Projects Team and the laboratory groups to maintain accurate information on sample status including sample acquisition, processing, and analysis reports.  
    • Develop strategies and processes for case review and associated research and patient ethics activities, including review of case information, case selection for clinical review, report summarization, meeting coordination and follow-up.  
    • Liaise with clinical team members and internal staff to develop strategies for accurate and timely review of clinical research results.
    • Revise existing sample collection SOPs to modify to specific departments, and work closely with cancer centers and hospitals to develop and refine processes for biopsy procedures and documentation.
    • Assist with publication development, review and submission.
    • Additional activities as required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proactive interactions with collaborators are a must to perform successfully in this position. Active participation in laboratory meetings and seminars relevant to the group’s activities is highly encouraged.

Specifications

While equivalencies will be considered, ideally you will bring a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, plus 3 years of recent related clinical research management experience. 

Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority.
